Philosophy of Pastoral Ministry
The pastor’s first duty is to care for the needs of the membership: spiritual, emotional and physical (John 15:15-17). The role of the shepherd is to provide guidance, comfort and leadership. The pastor, as servant-leader, seeks to empower and encourage the church.
Philosophy of Leadership
I am a strong believer in team building. The church is the body of Christ. Each part of the body is needed to accomplish our purpose as defined in the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19-20), balancing evangelism and discipleship. My goal is to create an environment where all believers are welcome and made necessary.
Philosophy of Preaching
All preaching, teaching and counseling must be firmly based on the Bible. My preaching method is primarily expository. When topical messages are presented, they are based on exposition of the Scriptures.
Philosophy of Church Growth
Healthy, living things grow. A healthy church will continue to win souls to Christ and train disciples.
Philosophy of Worship
Worship should be joyous and enthusiastic. Its purpose is to lift our hearts to God and open us to receive His Word. Style is unimportant to me, but should be appropriate for the congregation and community.
